

Congratulations to Davis 7th Grader Zachary Cohen for his Second Place win in the prestigious national C-SPAN videocam contest. Zack's project, Education: Take A Spin, competed with thousands of entries from around the country and aired on C-SPAN on April 17.
Zack's project focused on the importance of education funding. His video included interviews with Georgia 4th District Congressman Henry Johnson as well as Georgia State Public School Superintendent Dr. John Barge. Cohen will be awarded $1500, and as his Davis Academy faculty advisor, Kendrick Phillips, will be awarded $125 to spend on digital video equipment for the school.

Davis First Place Winners
Congratulations to Davis 7th Graders Maqueline Weiss (center of photo) and friends (L to R) Molly Antebi, Zoe Starr, Rachel Murray and Jenna Holland who were interviewed for WSB-TV's People 2 People program. Maqueline, a Type 1 diabetic, is a spokesperson for diabetes education and research. The girls related the story about how they were actually able to help Maqueline during a medical emergency on a school field trip because Maqueline had educated them on what to do. Davis Kindergarten Student Makes National News For Fantastic Baseball Play!
Davis Academy Kindergartner Ross Bernath became a national overnight sensation after a video showing the six year old making an unassisted triple play in his little league game got the attention of ESPN, which made it one of their plays of the day.
