At Davis, we believe that some of the most impressionable learning occurs outside of the classroom. Younger students take fun and educational day trips - from visiting a farm to a day in Birmingham learning about Civil Rights. Starting in Fifth Grade and every year in Middle School, students take overnight trips – from learning about the natural world at the Okefenokee Swamp, and Cumberland Island, GA to understanding history in the places where it happened in Washington, DC, to the ultimate Davis journey to Israel during Eighth Grade, just before graduation.
This unique program provides opportunities to explore broader life concepts such as empathy and diversity. Students end the day twice a week with some provocative discussions and hands-on experiences.
These programs provides Lower School students great after-school activities including sports, music, cooking, gymnastics, chess and much more!
Creative and challenging extracurricular activities for Middle School students range from math to music.
Longer hours are provided for Lower School families that need care until 5:00 Monday - Thursday and until 4:30 each Friday. Students may do homework or engage in supervised activities.
We host a variety of camps, from drama to sports, every summer. During 2012 we hosted these fine camps. Camps for 2013 will be posted by January.
