On the field and in the gym, students at The Davis Academy share in the camaraderie of playing on a team and are encouraged to make fitness a part of their healthy lifestyle.
Sportsmanship and doing one’s best, regardless of skill level, are vital components of our overall athletics program at every age level.
Physical Education is considered a core component of The Davis Academy curriculum, with a focus on developing the whole student. We teach individual, team and lifetime concepts and activities that a student may use later on in life. The overall goal of the physical education program is to get the students in the habit of doing exercise and to introduce creative and fun ways to get the daily exercise that they need. In the Lower School, we concentrate on the building blocks of movement concepts, spatial awareness and rhythm, which can be brought to life through unique obstacle course activities, team relay races or fun, interactive “dance off” programming. In the Middle School, there is a shift to individual, team and recreational sports. We want our students to be lifelong learners as well as lifelong movers! Lower and Middle School students take PE three times per week.

Middle School Interscholastic Athletics
Middle School students have the opportunity to participate in Interscholastic sports. We are a MAAC Division 1 school and our teams regularly qualify for and win championship games.
The competitive athletics program includes ten different sports played by 20+ different teams. At The Davis Academy, teams are offered at varying skill levels for both boys and girls so that every child who wants to play a team sport has the opportunity to do so. The purpose of The Davis Academy Athletic Program is for students to learn and apply the necessary skills, to develop dedication, teamwork, sportsmanship, and to have fun. We want to develop each athlete’s mind, body, and spirit.
Many of our athletes have had the opportunity to participate in city and state-wide competitions, taking home a number of notable wins, and are now participating on high school, college and professional sports teams in the United States and around the world.
Middle School sports include the following:
