Gabrielle Oquendo graduated from The Weber School in 2014 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science from Georgia State University in 2021, graduating magna cum laude. She is currently a fourth-year medical student, applying for a General Surgery residency to begin in July 2025. Gabby serves as Co-Chair of the Latino Medical Student Association National Surgery Section and Co-Director Elect of the Latino Medical Student Association Southeast Region.
At Davis, I learned two things that have stuck with me: be kind to everyone you meet and never forget to laugh. Those lessons, along with the values and friendships I built, shaped not just my childhood but also my young adulthood.
One of my favorite memories is our class trip to Israel—a life-changing experience I’ve been reminiscing about for years. Now, I’m finally planning a trip back, ready to relive the magic and reconnect with a place that meant so much to me.
