Our Davis Story: Inon and Rifka Dinesman

We chose The Davis Academy based on three key factors: strong Jewish values with a deep connection to Israel, a vibrant and welcoming community, and a commitment to educational excellence. From the very beginning, Davis has exceeded our expectations in every one of these areas.

One of the things that has impressed us most is the personalized attention and support our children receive. Davis teachers go above and beyond to meet each child where they are. In math, our son was given advanced materials beyond his grade level, which kept him engaged, challenged, and proud of his progress. In Hebrew, because we speak the language at home, his teachers provided extra books to deepen his skills and confidence. Their commitment to nurturing each child’s strengths has made a lasting impact on his learning and development.

When we moved to Atlanta, staying connected to the Jewish community was a top priority for our family—not only to maintain our traditions but also to find like-minded families who share our values. Davis made what could have been a difficult transition feel seamless. From the very beginning, we were embraced by the school’s warmth and inclusivity. Weekly Shabbat gatherings, class events, and holiday celebrations have helped us forge meaningful friendships and create lasting memories. Davis has given our family a true sense of belonging.

The school has also played a central role in shaping our child’s Jewish identity. Through programs like the Shinshinim and the excitement of the 8th-grade Israel trip, as well as Hebrew, Tefillah, and Torah studies, our children are deeply connected to their heritage. Davis reinforces Jewish values through hands-on experiences—whether it’s performing Mitzvot, connecting with older and younger peers, or participating in acts of service that reflect what it means to live a Jewish life with purpose.

Academically, Davis empowers our children with a personalized and creative approach to learning. Teachers challenge and support them in ways that build confidence and ignite a love of discovery. Whether it’s expressing themselves through art and science, taking part in Book Buddies, or speaking during Shabbat gatherings, our children are developing not only strong academic skills but also self-assurance and a love of learning that extends far beyond the classroom. Field trips, museum visits, and other experiential learning opportunities broaden their horizons and help them see that learning is everywhereIt is because of the entire Davis Academy community that vision became reality and that together, we share a very special school built with love, devotion, and Jewish values.

Perhaps the greatest gift we’ve received from Davis is one we didn’t fully anticipate—the power of a truly strong and nurturing community. It’s more than just a school. It’s a place where our children are becoming thoughtful, resilient, and kind individuals. A place where they are known, loved, and inspired to be their best selves every day.
