Our Davis Story: The Hopkins Family

"Davis has been an important part of my family’s story for many years. As the proud dad of three Davis alumni, Jared (Class of 2014), Will (Class of 2017), and Scott (Class of 2023), I had the opportunity to watch each of my sons grow, learn, and find their own place within the Davis community.

Over the years, I saw firsthand the impact Davis had on my children and on our family. Davis gave them a strong academic foundation, a meaningful connection to their Jewish identity, and a community that encouraged them to ask questions, take on challenges, and become confident in who they are.

Today, Jared is working as a senior account executive with Indeed.com in New York City. Will is pursuing his dream and is working as a sports broadcaster for Emory University, 680 the Fan, and Dawgs Central. Scott is a senior at North Springs High School, where he is a member of the Varsity Boys Basketball team and an active member of the Jewish Culture Club, UNICEF, and Honor Society. Looking at where they are today, I can see how the foundation they received at Davis continues to shape their lives, from their caring nature and the confidence to pursue their individual passions to the values and strong sense of identity they carry with them. It is meaningful to see pieces of their Davis experience reflected in the young men they have become.

Seeing that lasting impact is a big part of why I have remained so involved with the school. As a longtime member of the Board of Trustees and now as Board President, I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to a place that has given so much to my family. Serving alongside alumni, parents, grandparents, alumni parents, and community members, I have the opportunity to help Davis remain strong and continue providing an exceptional experience for today’s students.

For me, staying connected to Davis is also about paying it forward. My children may have graduated, but I still feel a responsibility to help ensure the next generation of Davis students has the same opportunities to learn, grow, build meaningful connections, and carry what they gained here into the future.

Davis will always be an important part of our family, and it is a privilege to play a role in helping shape what comes next."
