Dedication. Teamwork. Sportsmanship.
At The Davis Academy, teams are offered at varying skill levels so that every child who wants to play a team sport has the opportunity to do so.
The robust athletic program provides opportunities for students to strengthen their physical skills and abilities, and to build leadership, teamwork, friendships, and community all at the same time. More than 90 percent of Davis Middle School students participate in at least one team sport annually, choosing from 10 unique sports and typically,18 teams. Throughout fall, winter, and spring our two gyms and multiple fields are filled with motivated athletes participating in soccer, cross country, volleyball, baseball, softball, ultimate frisbee, basketball, track & field, tennis & golf. We are a MAAC Division 1 school and our teams regularly qualify for and win championship games.

Physical Education
Middle School Physical Education inspires in each student a love of play, confidence in competition, sportsmanship, and an integral understanding of healthy choices. During PE, students work on developing skills for individual fitness and team sport participation.
Guided by trained specialists, students learn about cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, body composition, and flexibility. Students also learn strategies and concepts while participating in skill practice and modified game play.

Our Values Come Into Play
Just as we celebrate our wins, as importantly, we celebrate
the way our values come into play. With an emphasis on lion pride
regardless of the final score, Davis coaches ensure our student
athletes are focused on spirit and respect as they develop as individuals
and as a team.
Whether we win or lose, the importance of values in our athletic department does not waver. Incorporating values as we play sports builds lifelong skills, such as accountability, humility and self-discipline.

Lion Pride Through College and Beyond
Many of our athletes have had the opportunity to participate in city and
state-wide competitions, taking home a number of notable wins, and are now participating
on high school, college and professional sports teams in the United States and around the world.
