Nothing is More Important Than Your Child’s Future.
When parents choose a school, they want to be sure it’s a good fit for their child. When parents choose The Davis Academy, they soon realize that they have selected a place that goes beyond the education of the student, providing a community that embraces the entire family.
At The Davis Academy, students are given the opportunity to grow and flourish through an accelerated and enriched curriculum that is supported by a community where teachers get to know each child individually, understand how they learn best and form strong partnerships with parents. The Davis Academy seeks to develop the whole child through a balance of strong, challenging academics and enriching experiences that broaden our children’s worlds and nourish their spirits.
Our students emerge as leaders as student leadership opportunities exist throughout every grade at The Davis Academy. As young as Mechina and Kindergarten, students are given “classroom roles” such as greeter, line leader and teacher helper, which introduce them to the concept of individual and communal leadership. The pride that the students feel is evident as they greet visitors to the classroom or lead their peers from one classroom to the next. Responsibilities and opportunities grow with every grade to include roles such as book buddy, class mayor and safety patrol. When students enter the middle school, they are primed and ready to take their leadership skills to the next level. Here, they are introduced to the Middle School Leadership Training Institute (MSLTI), a program for middle school students interested in learning about leadership and experiencing distinct leadership tracks as Davis Ambassadors, Jewish Life Leaders and Student Government representatives. Through each of these programs, our students develop the skills and knowledge needed to be an effective leader within The Davis Academy community as well as the greater Atlanta community.
Catch Our Ruach!
Sometimes the magic is hard to capture in words. To help convey the spirit of The Davis Academy, we invite you to enjoy our “Kol Yisrael” music video featuring The Davis Academy community. Words and music written by our school rabbi and appearing on our first school CD of original Jewish rock: Be a Blessing (available on iTunes, CD Baby, Spotify, and elsewhere).
We are currently preparing students for jobs that don’t yet exist, using technologies that haven’t yet been invented in order to solve problems we don’t even know are problems yet.
Without the challenging academics, high expectations and an atmosphere of achievement at The Davis Academy, I would not have the confidence, courage and knowledge to continue to build my academic future.
Our state-of-the-art Media Centers and classrooms feature both traditional and innovative learning tools and resources such as writable furniture and walls, maker-spaces, touch pad technology, laptop computers, interactive projection systems and ergonomic designs that promote collaborative, creative learning and innovative teaching. Furthermore, we connect and collaborate with students, teachers and experts around the world through our global outreach initiatives. At The Davis Academy, our students are learning for today and preparing for the future.
A Davis Academy education stresses the importance of living our values with a focus on Wisdom, Community, Spirit, Respect, and Righteousness. These values, our menschlichkeit values, both describe who we are and what we aspire to be. In addition we emphasize student and family involvement in community outreach activities and Tzedakah Projects that give our students a chance to visit and support important community organizations such as the Atlanta Community Food Bank, The William Breman Jewish Home, Scottish Rite Hospital, The Atlanta Zoo, Camp Jenny and many more, as well as numerous national and Israel-based organizations. Our menschlichkeit values propel us to act in ways that better the world around us.
When it comes time for them to graduate, Davis students are ready to succeed in the 21st century. They follow their passions and with a 99% acceptance rate, routinely move on to attend the most prestigious public and private high schools in Atlanta.
