YOUR TAX CREDIT: A BIG IMPACT TO STUDENTS
Why I Contribute to the ALEF Fund?
Justin Berman, Davis parent and Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of Berman | Cresset.
The Georgia Private School Tax Credit Program makes an extraordinary impact to The Davis Academy student body—providing financial aid for qualified students with financial need.
Through the program, state residents, S- and C-corporations, LLCs, partnerships and trusts can redirect a portion of their Georgia tax liability to a Student Scholarship Organization (SSO) in support of financial aid at one or more independent schools of the taxpayer's choice.
When you participate, you receive a 100% tax credit to your state income tax bill for the amount of your contribution.
The state legislature expanded the Georgia Private School Tax Credit Program starting this year (2023), raising the annual cap to $120 million and increasing taxpayer contribution limits! See below for a breakdown:
- $2,500 single individual
- $2,500 married filing separately
- $5,000 married filing jointly
- $25,000 with Pass-Through Owner (not making HB 149 election)
- 75% of annual tax liability C-Corp, Trust, or Pass-Through electing to pay tax at the entity level (HB 149)
The Davis Academy partners with ALEF Fund, a state-approved Student Scholarship Organization (SSO). You apply to support The Davis Academy through ALEF. To learn more about the ALEF Fund visit aleffund.org.
